wants to start a division in Connecticut next year. "We're the largest traveling tournament golf club in New England,"
said Brian Blade, B.A.G.S. CT director. "We probably have around 680 members in Massachusetts and Rhode Island."
The B.A.G.S., founded in 1989, is like a minitour for amateurs of all levels of play. For a $129 membership fee this year,
according to the Rhode Island website ( www.bagsri.com), participants can play in about 60 events. The fee includes prizes, trophies and the opportunity to play competitive golf
